9/4 Sunday
again started off slow, as I had been at the beach and had a few drinks, but had some nice pick ups in the run. Ran with the Iphone again and really enjoyed the music.

9/5 Monday
started the run at 10:45 and it was HOT and HUMID. The sun baked me as I ran, and most of it was on concrete in the open sun as I ran down HWY 17 towards the bridge into Georgetown, crossed it, and backed tracked home. Felt rough, but got it done, ever how slow and painful it was

Beach run #2
Got up and was out for my run by 830am...drove to the beach access so I could do it all on the sand. The first 40% of the run was against the wind, so my pace was rather slow. The rest was quicker, especially the last 5 mins as I really really picked it up and got some fast running in. Was just moving to the music.

Beach Run #1
It was hot, as I went out for my run around 1pm, but the ocean breeze made it tolerable. After going along the coast on the roads, I hit the beach access and did some good miles on the hard packed sand of the beach. The only reason my pace was a little slow was because it was 2 days after the mountain climbs. Generally felt good though.

Santa Monica stroll
Miles: 6.2
Time: 50 mins
Pace: 8
Headed North, from Bohle's place, and ran past the Santa Monica pier, and up the path through palm trees and manicured lawns, on a dirt path up the shorelined road. Beautiful place.

South Padre Island, TX

Miles: 6.5ish
Time: 51:47
Pace: 7:45-50ish
Thursday was a full day of travel and work entertaining, so with a 11am flight out, and an ETA in CLT at 5:40, my best bet was to get up early and knock out a run. Me not being a morning person, I didn't have too much problem with getting out of bed. It's not everyday you get to go for a morning run on the beach in South Padre.
I restrained myself the night before with the adult beverages, and said good night to my colleague and customer. Was on the beach at 10 after 7, and pushed off. The beach was very wide and flat, and the running on the hard wet sand was easy and nice. I clipped on my blackberry and plugged in the tunes, as well as snapped a couple of pics along the way. It was cloudy, and cool - perfect running weather, but no brilliant sunrises or clear blue skies. Not complaining though.
The miles on the beach felt great. What a serene feeling to start off any day like this. Very tranquil and centering. Not real sure how far I went before I turned around, but I think a little over 3. I would have enjoyed going a little farther, but I had to get a shower and head to the airport.
